There’s a quote by Confucius that says: It doesn’t matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop. I think that in the hustle of the day, a lot of us forget this. I also think that a lot of us mistakenly use this as an excuse for our lack of progress too.
Progress – or the lack thereof – is a fine line in many cases. We should always be pushing ourselves to achieve more, to set new personal bests and attain the goals that we set for ourselves. However, it is equally important to realize the weight behind that quote, and to understand that sometimes progress can be slower than we’d like. As long as you’re heading in the right direction, count it as a win. Assess if there’s a way for you to move more quickly to your goals and adapt your plans accordingly, but never discount the progress you’ve made and realize the value of patience.
