Even the snail finishes the race.

Sometimes, our desire for positive change in our lives can drive us crazy! Most of us are impatient, especially when we’re working really hard for something. Whether that “something” is weight loss, a stronger leaner body, a longer distance or faster time on a run or bike, it’s important to remember that these changes take time.

The effects of diet and exercise are cumulative, meaning that you lose fractions of pounds per day, or add fractions of pounds to weights your lifting, or muscle that you’re adding to your body. Over time these things add up, so a continued intensity is important to maintain. The old adage “slow and steady wins the race!” needs to become your mantra.

Remember: Even the snail finishes the race – as long as it doesn’t give up!
