Staying True To Yourself

I was thinking about last Thursday’s post about getting the most out of your workouts, and the ensuing tips that followed it, trying to think if there was anything I felt that I left out that I could try to springboard off of to write something motivational for today when I ran across this quote:

“Fitness is like a relationship. You can’t cheat and expect it to work.”

This is unfortunately true in the fitness world. You might be able to get away with a little bit of fitness infidelity, an ice cream here, a skipped workout there, but if you truly want to see results, then you’re gonna have to put in the work, avoid the sweets, and above all stay true to yourself! Unlike the relationship the quote may make you think of, to a spouse or significant other, in this case, the relationship is with yourself. If you want to stick to your goals, your reasons for starting in the first place, then you can’t cheat. Otherwise you’ll let yourself down, and most of us know that feeling from past failed diets or workout commitments.

So stay true to yourself – you’re worth every second of the grind!
