Sometimes it can be easy to look around yourself in the gym, or your yoga class or running group – or whatever fitness mode you’ve chosen and pay attention to those who are better than you. There’s always going to be someone faster, stronger or better than you at whatever it is you’ve chosen to try. That’s ok. Frankly, it’s irrelevant. This is a competition with yourself – not that person. You’re fighting your own demons of self doubt, weakness, lethargy and overindulgence. Let the guy or gal you’re measuring yourself against inspire instead of deflate you. Someday you’ll be that person to someone else – heck, you may be already.
